My passion for the written word served as my inspiration to embrace life when I was ready to let go. My story may serve as yours.

Biography
Widowed early with two grown sons already out on their own, the written word became my salvation and my inspiration to hold on to life. It became my purger of despair and my healer. I turned my passion for writing into a purpose and a challenge . . . to offer an outstretched hand to fellow strugglers. My first book, Fibers In The Web under the pseudonym "Sucarha" is a coffee table book of poems and essays of Spirit and Earth. That led me to a meeting with Robert Delany. Rainy Day People- A Novel is the heart warming result. Really a memoir wrapped in fiction, it is my hope that it will serve to lift the hearts of those traveling the somewhat rocky roads of life. I owe its existence to my late husband, and, to Bob, an award-winning writer in his own right, who served as my mentor, first, then my 'soul mate' of sorts. It's dedicated to Bob. He, too, passed on shortly after its completion. I live and work on the Gulf Coast of Florida and am currently the facilitator for the Sarasota County chapter of the Florida Writers Association and a charter member of Wizards Of Words. Work is progressing on my second novel, "The House Is Burning", and I contribute to several magazines and newsletters which has garnered me invitations to do workshop presentations. Poetry and Nature are my first love and a good deal of time is spent on designing and updating my Inspirational website: www.sucarha.com. It's a compilation of Nature photographs, poems and essays all set to music and the Flash trailer tribute to "America" just went live this week. It's purpose is for enjoyment and maybe a bit of thought food. I owe its existence to the talents of my site builder, Kathy Killam who is affiliated with Whispering Wind Publishing. May you always have rainbows . . . Susan Haley
Inspiration
To reach out and touch someone . . . One lady told me that after she read my books she sat up just a little bit taller. Whenever I get overwhelmed, I think of that and a new energy invades my being. I'd like to add something about 'never giving up'. This year, the audio version of Rainy Day People was entered in the 2008 Indie Excellence National Book Awards. I was honored to be awarded Runner Up Finalist. Now my story carries a gold award sticker. After all the hard work, it does feel good. Never give up on your work!
