Biography

Author-essayist-columnist-poet-artist-gardener=naturalist-wife-mother-friend...I've been all of these for many years. An umpteenth generation New Englander, my rural lifestyle is often reflected in my writing voice, in tales of a one-room schoolhouse or wildlife on the rampage. My work has appeared in the Boston Herald, the Christian Science Monitor, Yankee and many other regional and national newspapers and magazines. My fiction...novel and short stories are available on Amazon. As an artist I exhibit my watercolors and often create paintings themed to my poetry. As a cooking enthusiast, I originate recipes such as the pineapple gingerbread cake, which took me to a Bake-Off in Honolulu. Gingerbread is obviously in my stars, for I would later write my novel, Gingerbread Man. I am currently writing further short stories to join those already in the Amazon Shorts program. And I serve as a poetry moderator on WordTrip.com

Inspiration

Living in the midst of acreage preserved for farming and wildlife, I find constant inspiration in my natural surroundings and in my "neighbors"...the deer, fox, raccoons, coyotes, wild turkeys and songbirds, who share this beauty with me. A tamer menagerie of cats, dogs, fish and fowl delight my inagination. My curiosity towards people, their trials and triumphs, endearing eccentricities and splendid accomplishments, always fuels the fire of ideas. And I could never speak of inspiration, without acknowledging my mother, whose constant encouragement has been the bedrock of my life.
