Look and Listen

Biography

I was born in Surrey, south east England in 1965. I have done a variety of different jobs ranging from insurance clerk to supermarket cashier, but always wanted to write. It was not until my mother died, at the end of 1999 that I finally had the chance to realise this dream, as the money that she left enabled me to 'escape' albiet temporarily, from the rat race. A series of work related challenges brought me onto the spiritual path in 1995, although I think I have always been curious, since my father was a scientist and as unspiritual as they can be! When I first began to write though, I had very little knowledge of any of the subjects that my book contains, so it has been a very steep learning curve. I travelled to France, Egypt and Scotland in the line of research, and studied the history of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, as well as human origins via Birkbeck College in London. I have had several articles published in various magazines and on the internet and also act as editor for my local community newsletter, in Boxhill, Surrey. I am a very proaactive author, constantly looking for new ways to promote my work to both local and (inter)national media. I have appeared on both local radio and American radio and also Korean television and am a regular speaker at St Michael's non-denominational church in Ewell, Surrey.

Inspiration

I find inspiration mainly through my connection to spirit, but also in nature. I am very lucky to live in one of the most beautiful spots in Surrey, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. I find that walking and listening to birds and other natural sounds greatly enhances my creativity. I am also a regular visitor to the island of Lundy in the Bristol Channel, which is sandwiched between the North Devon and Welsh coasts. My greatest inspiration of all though is my partner and soul mate, Coran.
