Biography

Trevor was born in Kent, England and travelled extensively both with his father who had a long career in the British Army and, subsequently, during his own 34 year career in the Royal Air Force. His overseas tours included St Louis Missouri, Kenya, Zambia, Saudi Arabia and many other parts of the Middle East. He “retired” as a Wing Commander in 1993 and after a two year spell with British Aerospace in Saudi Arabia, and between long winter visits to Florida, quite by accident he and Sue fell into house-sitting one summer. Trevor’s interests include golf, the guitar and singing, and his (beloved—Sue says) computers! He and Sue live in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England

Inspiration

I’ve written about my travels and experiences over the past few years, some funny, some sad and if you like animals, dogs in particular, I hope you will find my book of interest. I don’t expect to challenge Bill Bryson’s position in the literary world but I have tried to emulate his style and humor! It was my sister, Raine, who quite by chance around ten years ago, introduced my wife, Sue, and me to looking after pets in their owners’ absence and it was also Raine, just before she died of cancer, who inspired me to complete the book and to get it published. By doing so I hope to put something into helping find a cure for cancer, in Raine’s name, and therefore intend to donate a large part of any income from my book to Cancer Research. I’ve stated on my web site and on the back cover of the book that I will give 75% of net profits to Cancer Research. I have already made a substantial donation.
