Biography

Hi, I'm an Australian author, married with three children. I live in a beautiful part of New South Wales. My parents arrived in Australia from Yorkshire in 1967. My passions, apart from writing, are reading, researching, genealogy, collecting Victorian diaries, roaming historical sites, buying books and gardening. I have written eleven historical novels, two contemporary novel and six short stories. My historicals are mainly set in Victorian/Edwardian era in England and Australia. My short stories, for some reason, are all modern set. :o)

Inspiration

My inspiration came from reading my first 'adult' historical titled, Tilly trotter by Catherine Cookson when I was 14 yrs. I was swept into another time and it gave me the love of historicals ever since. I've always enjoyed reading from a child. Edith Blyton's books were magical to me and it seemed natural for me to write stories as a child. My head has always been full of characters and settings and plots. It was very logical for me to write novels, but I didn't start being serious about it until I was 25 and at home with my babies. :o)
