A group of teens experiencing like nightmares, escape for the weekend to a summer home where hellish creatures spill over into our world. Can the subconscious portal be closed?
Barry and his friends have all been experiencing nightmares in the worst way. His best friend, Daniel, has been so affected that he has been finding it difficult distinguishing fantasy from reality. Suggesting a getaway for the group, Barry leads them to a summer home in Ringwood, New Jersey, where he promises they'll all forget about the bad dreams. When they arrive at the house, they find that it is not only extremely isolated, but also that it "feels" wrong. Disregarding this, they bunk down only to discover that the nightmares become much worse. When Scott discovers a false wall and a tome entitled, "The Subconscious Portal", he begins reading, triggering a series of events that leads to the rapid unraveling of the delicate and concise fabric of the universe. As person after person disappears from this world, he quickly realizes that each person who vanishes is replaced by a gruesome spectre. As the vanishings increase and the other-worldly creatures multiply upon this plane, Scott still cannot bring himself to halt his obsessive reading. What happens when his booklore ends? Perhaps, the Apocalypse...
