Has anyone utilized a publicist or know someone who has? If so what has your experience been.
I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions about having your work in Childrens Books considered for publication. I have sent the manuscript in to several publishers of childrens books with no results. I knew the chances were very slim, but I wanted to try.
Would it be better to self publish these books too? I have a series of four books completed, "The Adventures Of Dusty Boy". "Dusty Boy Meets Silly Sue", "Dusty Boy Meets Grandma", ETC. I would need to have an illustrator for these books also. Some of the big name publishers want to do their own illustrations. But what do you do to self publish? Go online and advertise for one? Or perhaps try to find an agent?
Does anyone have any serious suggestions to this dilemma? I have already self-published two non-fiction books. "The Journey, The Dreams, & AnnaBelle", plus a follow-up to it titled "AnnaBelle's Spirit". However, I would really love to go through a traditional publisher for these childrens books.
Christy, 12 and her brother Brad meet Ghost Kids in their new house. The entire family gets involved to help the Ghost Kids return to their own family. Then we have a magical blue vase where Uncle Charlie the bad guy of the book lives. He wants out of the blue vase and asks Christy and Brad to get him out of the blasted blue vase. In exchange he will tell them where Pirates' Treasure is hidden in thier house. Does Christy and Brad find Pirates'Treasure? What about the Pirates? Is any information ever found out about them? In order to answer these question plus other adventures, you have to read the book.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Benson’s Race
Fort Lauderdale, February 2009: Few children want to hear about working hard, being responsible, or earning the things they desire. However, everyone wants to know about racing through the Alaskan wilderness in the Iditarod, and when the skills and ethics of adulthood are innocently couched in a charming story about Husky puppies, the idea that “a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down” takes on new meaning.
Benson’s Race, a new book by Marilyn Clements, tells the story of Benson, a Siberian Husky, who wants to be a racer. Giving up puppy parties and other puppy pleasures to work out on his treadmill is the first of many lessons he learns on his long road to lead Husky. When his youthful exuberance results in a sled crash, he learns about responsibility too. But it’s during the actual race that Benson discovers that not everyone is as honest as his trainer. While crossing a dangerous stretch, Benson leaves the pack to go after Rosie, a red-furred husky dognapped by Zelda, the evil musher. Can Benson save her? And will rescuing her cost him the race?
Addressing family, work ethics, responsibility, and tolerance of others, this touching, yet action-packed story teaches valuable lessons we all must learn. The characters come alive through magnificent illustrations. Benson’s Race is recommended for fourth through sixth graders, but is wonderful for reading to younger children as well.
Author, Marilyn Clements, has always held a place in her heart for animals, and shares her Connecticut home with a Siberian husky named BeBe. A businesswoman and professional speaker, Marilyn works hard to find the magic that life holds, and never stops reaching for her dreams. Her latest, of course, is writing her next children's book.
