English Artist Photographer and Writer (mainly stories for children), living and working in the French countryside
Biography
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember (though I started taking writing more seriously following a recent disablement to one arm, which keeps me from doing the metal sculptures, that had been the mainstay for many successful years). Enjoying the pleasure on my children's faces (as they critique) much of my work is orientated towards the young generation. Current projects include; the on going tales (and verse) of the loveable dragon Whimsical Will, the Wizbon Magic children stories, and a children's novel (untitled). Thankfully, the Internet provides the means to showcase and sell my work (including writing, music, graphic art and photography) under the Beaux Reflets label at http://www.beauxreflets.com; where we also offer a proof-reading and editing service provided by Amanda Kemp BA Hons. (Theology) for fellow writers.
Inspiration
Funnily enough, as an artist I find that most inspiration comes through inspiring others, while reflecting upon the glorious beauty and diversity in the world. 'The joy of creating a picture in graphics or written word is always overshadowed by the joy bestowed through hearing how much someone likes and enjoys your work.' As a writer with artistic flair, the world of computers and digital graphics inspires me towards the cutting edge of interactive books; where children (tied to high rise city life) can leave the concrete jungle and often depressing News, and enter the countryside and their imagination at the click of a mouse. As a practical person, I am truly amazed by the publishing software available like Opus, and as I scan in a pencil sketch for development or type a few lines, I often muse upon how self published authors like Beatrix Potter would have worked if computers had been invented in their time.
