    Biography

Susan started writing when she learned to read. This happened at age 8. She was a late reader,. Before the age of 8, she was an oral storyteller. Her first prize winning work was "The Land of Holidays" She was awarded the school prize at St. Cyprian's in Capetown , S. Africa. She had a poem published in a national high school anthology. For the next 35 years she devoted herself to acting. She went back to writing towards the end of the 20th century. She and her then 9 year old son Chris wrote a story called Jamie's Dream. It is being published this year by Guardian Angel Publishing. Susan still acts. Last year she was on Hannah Montana. So far in 2007, she has done 3 plays. Right now she is understudying in a musical called "Mamelah" She was married to actor Barry Corbin and they had 2 children together. Barry and Susan are still good friends. Susan is currently revising Tasha, and working on a non fiction book for 3rd and 4th graders called "Disasters Happen" (Earthquakes, Hurricanes and Tsunamis - What causes them? How to we prepare for them? What do we do when they happen? How do we help when a big disaster happens?)

    Inspiration

Oh Wow! There are so many!. As a child I loved biography and Fairy Tales. Then I found E. Nesbit. She wrote in the 1890's about magic happening to ordinary children. She never talked tdown to children. Then there wasL. Frank Baum, C.S. Lewis, L. M. Montgomery, Inez Haynes Irwin (The Maida Series) Dr. Seuss, Meg Cabot, The Pollyanna books, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Julia Cameron (Okay! This is not a connected list.) My inspirations are the magic makers and the believers.
