Biography
A native Oklahoman and graduate of the University of Oklahoma, I spent ten years as an award-winning radio sportscaster in my home state. From there, I moved into the PR arena, serving as public relations director on the women's tennis tour. After that, I entered the corporate marketing world for Southwestern Bell and then moved to Houston, TX, my current home, to assume a marketing director's position with a start-up wireless company. Since 1998, I've been owner of Turn-Key VideoWorks and WebWorks with a wide-ranging client base from Dell and HP computer companies to the University of Oklahoma, Rice University and the University of Houston. In addition, my company was the official provider of Web services for baseball great Albert Pujols, which led me to creating a Web site for former National League Rookie of the Year Wally Moon. It was that relationship which led to my involvement in the creation of his memoir, "Moon Shots: Reflections on a Baseball Life," published by Mill City Press in September 2011. I've also recently collaborated on a second book called, "Dear Jay, Love, Dad," to be published in January 2012 by the University of Oklahoma Press.
Inspiration
I've taken great pride in being a "story-teller" most of my professional life, first as a radio sportscaster, as PR director on the Virginia Slims women's tennis tour, in my corporate marketing and PR positions with Southwestern Bell and Aerial Communications, and, finally, as the owner and producer for Turn-Key VideoWorks and WebWorks. The many stories I've told have served to inspire my desire to become a more proficient and accomplished writer. I hope participation on this site will help me move more closely to that goal.
