Pleasantly wry writer in the Midwest. Lover of Steinbeck and anything with cheese.

Biography
Peter Plaehn studied Corporate Design at the University of Wisconsin before embracing his talent for Organizational Development and Training in the restaurant industry. He considers writing his first novel a fun experience, mostly because he didn't realize what he was getting into. He is working on his second novel while planning and scribbling pieces of his third, fourth, and fifth.
Inspiration
It's the oldest cliche in the book to say you write what you know, but in my case it's true: I know about family, friends, and how past events shape the present and future. Those relationships form everyday life and no matter what direction I go with my writing, I always come back to those basics. This is a welcome evolution from my early plot-encumbered writing that slogged through exposition to get to tiny grains of character. Current favorites are Steinbeck novellas, Fitzgerald short stories, comedic novels by Christopher Moore, and am considering revisiting an early obsession with military fiction.
