Biography

Born in Southern California, Kohana Au grew up in a middle class suburb of Los Angeles. At age 9 he was sent to work the summers on his family's cattle ranches in Northern Colorado, which he did until age 16. It was here that he developed his love and understanding of hard working rural communities, horses, travel and the great outdoors. Always enjoying writing, he employed this gift in all his endeavors. Primarily involved in Sales & Marketing, he was a Featured Writer for the Kauai Menu Magazine providing historical content in each of his articles. Kohana Au enjoys: Sailing, Horseback riding, music, camping, reading, writing, exploring and adventures. Always yearning and learning to know more.

Inspiration

Kohana Au has long been a writer associated with a number of projects throughout the Hawaiian Islands. As a student and lover of all that is Polynesia; from New Zealand to Hawaii, he shares his knowledge and understanding of these wonderful cultures. " Working on this book has been a very enjoyable learning experience as my research took me to all of the Hawaiian, and many of the Polynesian Islands. I had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people who shared with me their knowledge of their history, myths and legends."
