I am 54, and jumped off a corporate career to pursue my true dreams. Author, speaker and coach concerned with helping people navigate safely through life's transitions. I love life and my family.
Biography
Why are so many people stuck in circumstance? Why do they suffer through an unsatisfying life, muddling through, hating their jobs, unable to free themselves from the situation they are in? At most, these people may hop from one job to another, going from one unhappy situation to a similar one, getting mild consolation from the idea that a different setting at least brings new people. But the truth is that they remain trapped in discontent. My name is Jan Peter Aursnes and I am an author, business consultant and public speaker under the tutelage of Bob Proctor, Paul Martinelli and Les Brown. Together with my wife Ingunn, we created Quantum Leaps Consulting, LLC with the goal of helping positive and motivated people and organizations turn passion into performance. I was born in 1954 in a tiny fishing village on the west coast of Norway. As a student, I worked as a fisherman during summer vacation on board a fishing vessel plowing the Barents and Norwegian Seas in pursuit of Capelin, Herring and Mackerel. I have a degree in Management Sciences from the University of Manchester in England, and after I served my one-year National Service in the Royal Norwegian Navy, I spent 27 years in the corporate world, mainly within the food and beverage industry. During this time, I worked for the International Red Cross as a relief delegate in the Republic of Georgia which reinforced my belief in justice around the world and equal opportunities for all. Ever fascinated by what makes some people successful while others are left to struggle, I left my job as general manager with a very successful coffee roasting company, and put the corporate world behind me in pursuit of my newly discovered purpose. I am committed to helping people discover their purpose, create their vision and lay out the associated goals in order to lead a fulfilling life. If only everybody performed to their true potential—that would really be something! The more people that find and live their purpose, the better place this world will be to live in. This can of course be done in any framework, whether it is within a corporate setting or any other environment that suits the individual. The main thing is that you find out what you really want to do. You have to be willing, though. You must be committed and put forth the effort, otherwise I cannot help you. Some sales people do well; others don’t—all the while seemingly taking the same action steps. What is the difference? Why is that? I am truly excited to share with you what I have learned; it works! I sincerely believe it is for everyone, but again, you must be willing to do what it takes. You owe it to yourself—and your family—to find what you are really good at and to follow your dreams. Go out and do it! The culmination of life events, education and experience has led me to write my first book: Unlock Your Future. The Key to a Fulfilling Life. I sincerely recommend it. It is a big dream come true for me, but I have worked hard to make it happen. When you have discovered your purpose, you just might be surprised at what you can accomplish. I also have a dream to have my own radio show and, rest assured, that will come too—I’m working on it! I am married and live with my wife and two children in Wilmington, North Carolina. We are committed to helping you reach your goals and we look forward to hearing about your dreams. Take action and never settle for less than you deserve!
Inspiration
I have always wondered why some people are successful and others are not, seemingly taking the same actions. Why some people perceive something as an opportunity while others do not. So I wanted to write a book about what it takes to be the successful and what distinguishes them from the mainstream.
