Biography
Deborah has worked for than twenty years with children and adolescents suffering from all types of emotional and behavioral disorders. She has lived in and has been licensed as a registered nurse in Alaska, Connecticut, and Virginia, and has worked in different types of facilities, ranging from inpatient mental health units to clinics to religious organizations. She has an associate's degree in nursing, a bachelor's degree in psychology, and she has done graduate work in child welfare. She is working of a master's degree in psychology. Her first book, The Forgotten Future: Adolescents in Crisis, will be available at amazon.com after April 1, 2008. More information is available at www.debebel.com. Deborah is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the International Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses Association, Cambridge Who's Who, and First Families of Tennessee. Deborah lives in Virginia and enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, and loving her cat, Chessie.
Inspiration
Deborah's mother, Mildred Luffman French, was a true inspiration. Both of Deborah's parents came from backgrounds of limited means and little formal education, yet they were able to self-educate and inspire all their children to learn every day of their lives.
