I live in the UK with my three children with the intention of making it as an author
Biography
I wrote my first novel 'The Secrets of Arran' nearly two years ago. Sitting alone on the evenings whilst my children where in bed and my husband worked nights.I soon became lost in the story and when it was completed I sent it off. The first publisher came back within days and said they loved it and asked me to make some changes. Excited by the thought that my book was actually good I did as requested only to find that by the time I had re-submitted the publishing schedule was full. Not long after my husband walked out on my and the children and I sank into a depression. It was then I came across a new publishing company called Britain's next bestseller who were calling for authors to send in their manuscripts with the intention of letting the public decide if they liked it.I half heartedly sent it in not really expecting to have any luck but I did! I have now being placed on their website with the challenge of securing 250 pre-orders to land a publishing contract. So now I have to do everything I can to rise to the challenge and fulfil my dream of being a published author
Inspiration
There were three things that inspired me to write The Secrets of Arran. The first was the real life case of Danielle Cable, the eighteen year old who witnessed the brutal murder of her boyfriend and was subsequently placed into witness protection. The idea of a story then took hold and after visiting the Isle of Arran for the first time. I completely fell in love with it and the setting for my book was the second inspiration. I just so happened to have bought Paloma Faith's CD Fall to Grace and listened to her wonderful songs all week and the lyrics seemed to fit the story perfectly. Within days of arriving on the Island, The Secrets of Arran was born. - See more at: https://britainsnextbestseller.co.uk/index.php/book/index/TheSecretsofArran#sthash.bLrvuaOm.dpuf
