Description

Told through the perspective of various narrators in fast-paced, fluid style, The Universe Ends in Brooklyn is the story of a group of twenty-something Brooklynites who all find themselves at the same bar on the last night of the universe’s existence. After a run-in with his (now former) girlfriend and her lover, Peter flees to a local bar, where he seeks solace among other unsatisfied people. Peter quickly gravitates to the local Pac-man legend, Johnny, whose unrequited love for the Southern beauty, Jasmine, is muted by Jasmine’s charming and successful boyfriend, Romeo. When Jasmine and Romeo show up to cheer on Johnny’s legendary Pac-man performance, emotions begin to spiral out of control. If that wasn’t bad enough, our narrators begin to notice that something isn’t right about the world around them. Why does Peter keep having flashbacks to past relationships? Why does Romeo feel like Time is slowing down? And what does it mean when the eccentric philosopher, Leif, begins to peel away the fabric of the surrounding world?
