Description

George Gabney has the terrible and everlasting gift of Death. He didn't ask for it, doesn't want it, but can't be rid of it. George is burdened with knowing that every soul that he meets, every person he sees, could be the next life he takes. Worse yet, no one, including George himself, know who will die next. But they will die. His struggle lies with a twisting and deadly legacy that dates back to the American Revolutionary War. This inherited gift carries with it centuries of history and clues in which he must uncover before his life and his loved ones are destroyed. The gifts first appearance is to an unbalanced murderer named Mural during the American Revolutionary War. It accompanies him through his unnaturally long and tumultuous life. In the 1930’s, Mural unburdens himself of the gift unto the second in line, Randy. This man gazes in the mirror and sees Death staring back as well but doesn’t embrace it like Mural did. The gift shreds his mind apart over the years and he suffers a crisis of faith. In response, Randy attempts to repress the insanity that accompanies the gift, but it isn’t long until his struggle proves fatal. Randy decides to rid himself of the gift as well. But he, as does every man with this gift, discovers that there may be worse things than being Death. Mural has returned and means to retrieve his precious gift by killing anyone and everyone in his way. George, caught in the middle of their battle, is forced to find a way to stop Mural from taking back the gift and make it out with Death, alive. With the gift trusted into his care, George is constantly pursued by Mural and has to discover how to end this terrible lineage by nothing short of twisting fate.
