Description

Described as 'this breakthrough new historical romance', this new novel is set in Bronze Age Crete. Hero, an enslaved Amazon warrior, is sold to a wealthy Cretan merchant who uses her as his concubine. His nephew, the handsome and brave Aito, inherits Hero and takes her to sea with him on a trading venture. The two begin to fall in love without realising it, but are captured in battle. Each fights their way to freedom and a change in fortune. But they have made powerful enemies among the mighty Phoenicians and the gods themselves seem determined to slay them when, fleeing their enemies, they are caught up in the greatest natural catastrophe of the ancient Mediterranean world! Will their love survive the tests that fate puts them through?
