Description
Rob Grant, at 38, is a single father with two teenage sons and is facing more issues than just his younger son’s experimentation with drugs. At about the same time, the oil company he works for in New York is the target of a hostile takeover bid. If the acquisition takes place, he can kiss a very good management job goodbye. And not to be overlooked is that Rob wants a lasting partnership, so he undertakes a search for that special someone who can fill the void and also serve as a stand-in mother for his two boys. They have needs, too. But since Rob’s recent divorce is his second, he’s wary of making another long-term commitment too quickly. Thus conflicts arise when his caution isn’t fully understood by either his sons or the women he dates. They include a woman he meets at a conference in Las Vegas, and another in his hometown of Sheffield, Conn. Rob deals with his professional and parental problems ably, but, finding that he likes the variety his single life offers, he’s a long way from settling on a new partner.
Re: Your comments
newHello Philip Harris, Appreciate reading your comments. What also caught my eye was that you call Maine home. My wife's sister and husband live in Raymond and we'll be over in late October for a few days to celebrate a milestone birthday. If you're anywhere close, I'll buy you a coffee before we come back on 02 November. Your radio show and national reach are also of interest. I've done several radio interviews, and, in fact, I could send you the last one (MP3 file) done in mid-April when I had a Waldenbooks signing session in my Indiana hometown. Friend? Sure, put me on your list. Those of us who are voices in the wilderness (self published) can use all the friends we can find. Last, see my other two parts of the trilogy, both posted alongside Deliberate Steps. Thanks again for your interest and support. With kind regards, Dick Gibson (Luxembourg)
