I'm new to the forum and have a website. It's on http://prophecyofthekings.com/ -any comments would be greatly appreciated. I think everyone out here appreciates how tough it is to get their book published so best wishes to everyone. Any advise towards achieving this would be greatly appreciated. I'd just like to say what a great site this seems to be :)
Hi Dave:
It is hard to publish a book these days. Due to the economy, I'm hearing that the big publishers are not apt to take on newcomers.
I went with a traditional publisher--an e-book publisher. SynergEbooks was listed along with the print publisher in this "all the publishers" tupe book. However, e-books are harder to sell, but things are looking up. In spite of the economy, sales are going up in that industry. It may be due to Amazon's Kindle 2.
Some people self-publish. Lulu has a good reputation. I am thinking of them myself.
Good luck in your endeavors.

David, yours is a model site for any writer. Tons of information and lots to read. Where did you publish your books?
I have a new site on the go, I'm just waiting for the domain to get registered then I'll promote like crazy where ever I can. Perhaps we can do a link exchange....

In terms of promoting your books, this site is great. Very straight forward and attention grabbing.
I self-published three books with AuthorHouse. After I did the first two I had heard some people had negative feelings about them, but when they gave me a sweetheart deal for my latest book, I decided to use them for my latest. JUDAS TIMES SEVEN is a story of greed, betrayal and jealousy set in the modern workplace where office politics and political correctness trump reason.
Getting back to subject at hand, I tried going the traditional route but never was able to land an agent, and figured I could well be dead before I found one and wanted to get the story out because I feel it is very timely giving some of the sentiment against some of the practices of the corporate world today. The downside to self-pub is that you have to pay the costs for everyting. Hope my books gets results especially since I don't have a big budget for marketing.
We pay each author on acceptance from $5 to $100 depending on the length of your stories. We're now taking larger volumes. As an online magazine we take sci-fi, horror, and fiction in general.
