I found this site as you find most things these days, browsing the net, and following the links from one site to another. I had signed up for Facebooks and someone on one of the groups there mentioned Nothing Binding.
I like the set up here. And nice to read everyone's posts.
I published one of my novels through Iuniverse (POD) so I am an indie. It was not my intention to go that path but after several unsuccessful attempts to interest a regular publisher in this novel I decided to do it myself, because I believed in the story, and wanted it to be read.
A spin off from the book was that I also became a contributing editor to suite 101 where I wrote a series of articles on The Writing Process as i experienced it. This ran for two years, and generated a lot of interest.
Now the articles are re-issued on my own website www.geraldinenesbitt.com. Drop by sometime and enjoy.
Anyhow, look forward to being in contact with all of you

It's nice to meet you. And congratulatons! It's so uplifting to hear accounts like yours of people who have taken charge of their own destinies and opened doors for themselves in the process. You go, girl!
I published through iUniverse earlier this year a novel that I'd just finished and which had not, therefore, been offered to anybody (as in agents). At the time, I had another MS. under agency contract, the second with this agent, who had failed with the first. In the two+ years she had one thing or another of mine, the only time I heard from her was when the invoice would arrive for copying and postage charges. No feedback, from her or anyone to whom the works had purportedly been submitted. We have since parted company, with no rancor.
But your post illustrates the fact that the stereotype of self-published authors as idiots who aren't "good enough" to appear in print is caca.

Hi there, Kathy. I think we're still figuring out how to make our way around here. For anybody who's been in a Yahoo group, for instance, this is confusing by comparison. You can view some of the posts by clicking on the link to the group on your subscription page. All of the posts come via email, although I have yet to figure out how to respond directly rather than pulling up a blank form and starting a new message. :/ Perhaps that's something that Ben could address.
As an aside, until I read your post, it never occurred to me that we've got Ben and Jerry here. LOL
Anyway, I hope this helps a little.

Hi, Gemma,
Can you tell me how to view comments and post topics? Or should I be asking Jerry and Ben about that? Many thanks for any help.
Kathy
