Biography
I am a grandfather of a wonderful baby girl and she has become my life’s greatest joy. She has also inspired me from her conception, or at least from me finding out I was going to be a grandfather. I wanted to leave something of myself behind for her, so I finally sat down and penned out my book. I am also a father of two wonderful daughters who have been my greatest blessing in life. I have survived their growing into adulthood and I am sure that my resulting tic will eventually go away. Both have entered college this year to further their education which pleases me no end. I want the best for them after all! I enjoy gardening, cooking, reading and writing, the great outdoors, and like the majority of people, not so much working. I also enjoy travel or seeing new things. Whether this naturally leads to seeing things new I will not debate. I also walk four kilometers every day; not only for the much needed exercise, but for the precious meditation time it allots me. The walk takes me along a river, on a well maintained gravel path with gardens all around. Finally, I am a Canadian author who believes in both a god and natural selection. The one deals with my natural faith and the second deals with my natural reasoning. If faith and reason were not both needed, then we would be devoid of one or both of them. Since we do have both, then both should be well used and neither one questioned!
Inspiration
As strange as it seems, what inspired my writing most was the war between faith and reason. In my view, both have overlooked the most important aspects of lifes origins: faith does count as much as reason counts. Just because a question is not answered today does not mean it will never be answered. It is in this spirit that I have become inspired to write a book on the topic of language evolution. Whether I am right or wrong, if one way is found to evolve language, then there are other ways to be found. I believe that I have reasoned it out correctly and have fallen upon the true answer. Not having the right answers is the consequence of not asking the right questions.
