    Biography

I grew up in a very dis functional family and my body responded to the stress and lack of direction in life and meal decisions by shutting down. When I was fifteen years old, I suffered a minor stroke in combination with a brain virus, all while living all on own. I was forced to move home, but after a month of re-training my eyes to uncross, I move out again because the problem in my house, the reason i left home so young to begin with, was still very much an issue. At seventeen my gallbladder was removed after twelve emergency visits in just over a year, for passing gull stones. I moved in with my boyfriend that year, and tried to manage a full time job, putting myself through grade twelve and healing. Not having any down time, my body never fully got better. I experienced chronic neck and shoulder pain for three years, periods of sciatica and swollen glands. When I finally decided that I needed to take care of myself, and at twenty three, being from a broken home and young, could not longer be an excuse, I became a vegan who eats mostly raw foods, but even when it isn't raw, it is not wheat containing. My health stabilized - with three adjustments a week, mind you, since my arc of life in my neck is backwards. Having solid health for the first time since I can ever remember, a solid relationship of nearly seven years and a great job, is the first time I ever asked myself: now what? What did I want to do and be? I had never really asked myself because I never had the time to pause. That is when my passion for writing was reignited. Everything I used to do as a kid that should have been an indicator for what I would be great as for a profession, came rushing back to me. I started collecting words I like the sound of or meaning, writing so much my hands felt like they would fall off and reading upwards of nine books a month. Deciding this felt like coming home. I SHOULD have known being a writer was my calling and unless you come from a similar background as me, you'll understand that having the time, ability and clear head to really realize that, never happened. Now that I know, it is all I think about. My first installment of The Shade Series is finished and about to be released, with many more to come. The dark epic fiction is a great read if i do say so myself, with a different take on the origins of vampires, shades and the battle between heaven and hell.

    Inspiration

I took a bunch of questions I had always had about heaven, hell and vampires and formed a book I felt would answer all of that in a great story. I adore anything Brent Weeks writes, and one book I could read often is 'Hades Daughter.'
