Biography

My writing platform is education politics, in fiction and non-fiction. I've found no shortage of story ideas! I have an "eclectic" background: master's degrees in urban planning and business, an insiders view of school's from an outsider who has done business with them in different ways. I do believe in change, but not always in the same manner as the politicians. Through my books and Educated Quest, my blog, I try to show another way of looking at education issues--and have fun doing it!

Inspiration

My favorite fiction writers are John Grisham, Joseph Finder and Richard North Patterson; their style uncomplicates legal, business and political issues. I also like Jodi Picoult for the way she provides so much detail in a story, without being overwhelming. My favorite non-fiction writers are David Halberstam for sports and politics, and John Feinstein and Terry Pluto for sports only. They cover the average athlete the best. I'm less interested in reading about the super stars.
