Biography

Hello, My name is Steve James, and I am the author of a book called Rise of the Third Son. I was inspired a number of years ago to start writing after someone suggested that I expand a screenplay that I had been working on for the Richmond Filmmakers Collaborative. After writing the book and starting to get it out to small groups of people, I discovered that it seemed to really resonate on many levels with them. From there I decided to start self-publishing, built a website, and started trying to put my work out there. I am interested in what type of options might work best to get my book in front of others that may enjoy the story as much as I and those that have already read it have. I have written a prequel, broken into two parts, called The Ancient. I have also planned sequels to Rise of the Third Son, at least three in total. The first sequel is already being written, while the outlines for the remaining books have been completed. I have no doubt from the feedback that I have received that this is a very unique story, and could become quite popular if given enough exposure. The amount of stories and successive books could easily create its own mythology, and I have designed it to be self contained.

Inspiration

I love a good story... something that inspires and moves me. There are a number of good books and films that inspired me to want to be a good storyteller. Ken Follett's books, Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, were two such books. The Hunger Games trilogy and several of the books by Frank Peretti to name a few.
