Steve
I am an author of science fiction and fantasy, but the most important hat that I wear is being a dad.

    Biography

I was born and raised in New Jersey. The majority of my life was spent in Northern Jersey. I have had several career changes through my life. I ended up teaching and writing and love every minute of it. I have two step children (who have yet to read my stuff) lol and two kiddies of my own. My son shares my passion for sci fi and fantasy and my daughter shares everything else. I went to school to make movies and life got in the way. Being one of those folks that found out he actually had to pay rent and provide his own medical benefits, the dream of filmmaking needed to take a back seat. I did what any normal person would do in that situation and became a stand up comic. lol Once I married and settled down, I was able to make a living performing, but with the birth of my son, I really wanted to spend time at home. So I went for summers off and great benefits. That's right I work for the school system. I discovered that you can stay home all summer as long as you can pay your bills. Nobody told me that when I signed up. So I have yet to stay home during the humid days of July or August. I hated summer school growing up and it still stinks today! I get my kicks and desire to be creative through writing. So this passion is quickly consuming my life and it's all good.

    Inspiration

I think my screenwirting background was a key influence in my life. Channeling that knowledge into writing novels. allowed me to be creative and weave a story with a word application other than a million dollar movie budget. My biggest inspirations are the new Battlestar Galactica series and of course Star Wars. On teh literature front, I have several authors that push me to be my best. Timothy Zahn is my first such person followed by DJ MacHale.
