Biography

Nanette McLain is from Queens, NY. Nanette is a social worker for a large non-profit agency serving NYC and Long Island. She left the Midwest in 2005 to make New York City her home. Her metropolitan life has been enjoyable, as she explores the city for the latest music, art, food or for a good cupcake! Because of her growing knowledge of the city, she is a fabulous tour guide for her sisters and friends that visit. It was one of these explorations that sparked the idea of a cupcake travel guide. Nerissa Pinkston is from the rural community of Elmer, MO where she lives with her husband, Eric, and 3 children: Carmen, Matilyn, and Barrett. Nerissa is a RN for a home health agency. Her life is very busy with her job, caring for her active family and helping her husband with their white tail deer farm. She attends numerous children’s activities at school, church and in the community. When she finds extra time, she loves to escape to faraway places. New York City has been a favorite stop, since her younger sister moved there. Nichelle Walters is from the suburban community of Smithville, adjacent to Kansas City, Missouri. Before having children, Nichelle taught sixth graders in Shawnee Mission, KS. She is now a stay at home mom raising 2 boys: Trace, 11 and Ty, 14. She helps her husband, Lon, in his law practice and volunteers at her boys’ schools, her church and for MOPS International. Traveling with her 2 of her sisters has been a delight. They have enjoyed Barcelona, Paris, London and cities throughout the US, including New York City.

Sisters' Guide to NYC Cupcakes was the inspiration of 3 sisters who enjoy spending together and sharing new experiences. Influences for the 3 sisters are varied from fiction, mystery, autobiographies and more. Though Sisters' Guide to NYC Cupcakes is a travel guide all 3 sisters are avid readers
