Biography

After learning just enough about everything to get himself into trouble, Shawn met his wife while teaching skiing and moved to France, where he launched his writing career. 20 short stories and a stint in Montreal for three years later, Shawn and his wife bought a bed & breakfast. Shawn went back to school and earned an MFA in Creative Writing. His creative thesis, the short story collection Name the Boy, was published by Dan River Press in 2007.

Inspiration

My writing has always been inspired by the world around me, the way I see things and interpret them. My aim isn't to create art, rather to find the truth, to find the most honest expression available to me, then to expose it and render it through the lens of my craft.
