Look and Listen
Biography
Shari was born and raised in California. She aspired to be an actress but settled for office clerk. Luckily that work led her to meet the most wonderful man in the world and she married him. They have two children and four grandchildren. When the nest emptied they moved to the Oregon woods where she became a professional crafter. Craft materials filled her home until she decided to pursue a career writing for children. After being published in many popular children's magazines she wrote a picture/storybook series about raccoon brothers and it was published by Guardian Angel Publishing. They also published her picture book, Nothing Stops Noah. Shari loves animals and that love is reflected in her writing.
Inspiration
Shari was the oldest of four children. Her father, a writer, was killed when she was eleven years old. They lived in the Redwoods north of San Francisco at the time and moved away shortly thereafter. Shari missed the raccoons that visited their back porch and the Stellars Jays that scolded from the tree branches. She loved the creek with tiny fish and crawdads hiding under rocks. All of this and more inspire her writing today. Shari feels we have lost some of the old values of kindness and caring and that is a part of her writing too.
