    Biography

I have been writing since I was a teenager, starting off with a journal, can I say that as a man? Anyhow, the journals turned into short stories which turned into very bad screenplays, which evolved into more short stories, poetry, and eventually the piece de resistance, novels. I enjoy participating in sprint triathlons. These are those races where people swim, then jump on a bike, then get off the bike and run. I know, doesn't make much sense, but man it's addictive. Also, I enjoy being outdoors in general, always have. I love hiking, kayaking, star gazing, and mountain biking. Periodically, I attempt to plant a garden, but I do not have the touch that my grandfather had. He was absolutely committed; whereas I see it more as a release, a getaway. But I soldier on trying not to overwater my tomatoes or over feed the peppers. Every once in a while I get adventurous and try to plant something exotic only to watch it die before its time. But I will continue to dabble in the great earth of life. Lastly, I have a great family. I am so blessed and fortunate. I am also not afraid to proclaim that Jesus Christ is my Savior, but don't worry, I am not a Jesus freak who is trying to convert anyone they meet. I figure you have your own ideas and if you ever want my perspective you need only ask. :)

    Inspiration

My inspiration comes from many things: the Big Guy who owns this universe, people, circumstances, places, events, history. Did I leave anything out? I have had great ideas appear suddenly, only to see them disappear as quickly, and then I have had so-so ideas bloom into real special tales, so my rule of thumb is to never disregard a thought or idea for the sake of hoping it's the next great story. I don't think that way. I enjoy the process and seeing where it ends up. Also, I seek inspiration on the "good of things", and the reason I put that in quotes is to emphasize the meaning of good. All too often people are inundated with negative thoughts, images, words, etc. I often take a different approach, that yes there are bad people who do bad things, but I don't need to create a protagonist with all sorts of crazy baggage in order to create a story. I am okay with creating a really "good guy", someone who is not afraid to admit his faults or get on his knees to pray to the God he worships. Again, I am inspired by many things, but this space does not warrant my babbling on.
