    Biography

I hope you're a reader, cause I'm a writer! We fit together like Eric Clapton and a guitar- I need you to read my stories, to make them come alive. I write flash fiction, and have published at flashquake, Word Riot, Slow Trains Literary Journal, and the Rio Grande Review; also short erotic fiction at Ruthie's Club and Clean Sheets. My novels have been published by Loose ID and MLR Press- romance and mystery. My novel Border Roads, my very favorite novel, is coming out July 2 at Loose ID. This is a novel-in-stories, very different from the usual light erotic romance. I hope the story finds some good readers. I'm retired from the Navy Nurse Corps, and work as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a small native village clinic on the Yukon River in Alaska, a long plane ride from the nearest bookstore. I like to live in places most people just visit- lots of interesting stories up here! I'm also mom to James, who is 14 and eating everything that isn't tied down. He's outgrowing his size 13s- do they even make men's shoes bigger than that? Family Motto: Enough is as Good as a Feast (Okay, that's just my motto) Family Goal: To visit all of America's National Parks

    Inspiration

My biggest inspirations come from the land, the landscape and the way it changes people, molds their character. I feel a strong connection with the land, and am happiest out in the middle of some quiet empty corner of the American Southwest- that landscape has seeped into my heart, red rocks and badlands and secret water. We'll go back there soon, to smell the juniper and the snakeweed and rabbitbrush...Don't get me started! I'm so homesick!
