    Biography

I was born in Hermosa Beach, CA and raised in Sacramento, CA, currently reside in Plano, Texas. I'm a Navy veteran, having traveled throughout Southeast Asia, serving on active duty with assignments in Japan, and on board the USS Jupiter AVA 8, and the USS Kitty Hawk CVA 63 during the early stages of the Vietnam War earning National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals. Returning to California, I received a BA and MA in Psychology from Sacramento State University, California. My Master’s Thesis question was, “Is Psychology What Psychologists Do?” My answer, given at a Western Psychological Association seminar in San Francisco, was a resounding, controversial, “No!” As VP of Sales of a large home decorating company, where I worked for many years, I designed and gave sales and management seminars and wrote the company’s Ethics and Business Manuals. Eyes of Redemtion is my first, I hope, soon to be published Novel. It is complete, edited, and ready to roll.

    Inspiration

Ecstasy felt and desire bursting forth, Eyes of Redemtion is a novel inspired by real life events, many personal and personally exaggerated, of love and lust, kindness and violence, life and death – the unfolding coming-of-age story of a boy, who struggles with virtuous behavior, challenges the reader’s sense of what defines moral integrity, and questions the existence of God. Patrick “Paddy” Francis Harrington is an Irish Catholic boy, born in 1945, growing up in California in the 1950s and 60s where what exists commingles with fictive illusions. He has the gift of insight, confusedly of his Self, accurately of others. His ability to see into the hearts and souls of others enables him to attract and accept friendship and love from an eclectic group of people of different races, various ages, and of disparate social standings. Later in life, as he travels to Japan and throughout Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Singapore while serving as a Navy Seal, these childhood experiences are precursors of the actions he takes in love and war, sexual encounters, and confrontations with death.
