    Biography

Some days I believe I am cursed. Being born on Friday the 13th does not quench this superstition. I was raised in the Appalachian coal fields but have lived a life which far exceeds geographical boundaries. I have never known a life where writing was not a fundamental part of being who I am. Also, I have never stopped loving. When I was young my mother called it being "boy crazy," but now it is a part that makes up my day. I live to love and I love to live. So for now, I am madly in love with my first novel and of course there is still a boy. I write for Helium.com, and a sex blog at Blogger.com. I stay up late because creativity does not have an on and off switch. I believe I will sleep enough when I am dead as for the present time sleep is not needed. I am truly just a girl in a crazy mixed world.

    Inspiration

My earliest inspiration came from Fannie Flagg. I engulfed myself in her southern novels and read "Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man" at least once every year for eight years. It was the book that made me laugh out loud and see the humor in life's situations. As I got older, I grew to love the great pieces of American Literature. My all time favorite book is "Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger. I admire the style and his storytelling as it conveyed into his way of writing. At the present time, I greatly admire Johnny Cash for his biography "Cash." It is this book that saw me through one of the roughest periods in my life. I think his no nonsense way of telling readers about his life opened my eyes to the world around me. Finally, my greatest inspiration came and still comes from Hunter S. Thompson. I could read the "Rum Diary" a million times and still dream about my own ambitions as a journalist. He was a man who lived by his own terms and died in the same manner. Since his departure, I often catch myself wondering "what would Hunter think of this?" He is what drove me to pursue a career in journalism and even though I do not have the guts to follow in his drug induced glory I admire his "Gonzo" style.
