    Biography

I was born during the Cold War and throughout my formative years believed that this is what the world will always be like. Over this past half century how things have changed for the remarkably better and for the worse. I've worked numerous jobs over the years, construction, renovation, demolition, as an assistant chef and over the past decade in the electronics field. I suppose I was always trying to buy time to write, travel, and to experience new things. What has impacted me the most is how other people think, how they live whether throughout parts of the U.S., in Dublin, or in Oaxaca.I like to keep an open mind and have found that all of life exists within a gray area. That's the place where an individual explores the truth and seeks out answers for questions big and small. We may never acquire all the answers but the journey to discover them is what makes it all worth while.

    Inspiration

What inspires/influences me to write? Probably a visceral reaction to a place, an individual or group, a particular milieu. Take for instance the novel I have recently published, The Sacrifice Area. It takes place approximately seven or ten years from now but an amped of version of what's happening today. There are some descriptions of the town that burned images into my mind that were prevalent back in the late 80's and early 90's.And a few of those places haven't changed all that much. My environment impacts me and I need an outlet for that expression. One major influence is that it's fun, hard work but non stop fun. What influences me are the dozens of books that I have read over the years that have put some really exciting thoughts and images in my head. I want to do that for others. That's when a book truly becomes your own.
