Biography

I write SF, Fantasy and mystery, as well as non-fiction about history and prehistory, especially the Knights Templar and Paleolithic shamanism/art. I have a PhD in Medieval History. I've published short stories in Strange Horizons, Black Gate, Not One of Us, Neometropolis, Albedo One and Far Sector. I've also cowritten a novel, "Fraterfamilias" with Judith Doloughan under the pseudonym "Peter Ferrer" at Virtual Tales. I'm also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.

Inspiration

Life, books, television, especially bad television. If I find a good idea in a bad show, I grab it and steal it for my very own. I also like indie film because it takes chances and Aussie and Canadian flicks because they're just plain whacked. I'm a fan of detective, hard SF and supernatural fantasy, especially. I like reading and writing stories about cops, spirits and spaceships. I love regional and ethnic flavor in my fic. Also stories set on frontiers or in wilderness and pretty much anything fictional set in Africa.
