Worked as a reporter, editor and writing coach at The Milwaukee Journal. Have been teaching journalism courses at Marquette University for 38 years. Married, three grown kids and four grandchildren. Live in Milwaukee. Have a cat, Bella.Inspiration
"The Cielo" was inspired by experiences of my cousin in Italy during WWII. She lives in a tiny village, the place where my father was born, and she and her family were forced to evacuate to a farmhouse in the hills during the German occupation. So they were trapped there while the Germans and partisans were fighting all around them. So the story of "The Cielo" is that of a group of people trapped in a farmhouse, the Cielo, and what happens to them.Favorite NB Titles
