Patricia Buckner
I began writing just recently, discovering that God loves a good laugh, I have endeavored to present myself as a subject to fuel His laughter and hope to convey those acts with the tip of my pen.

    Biography

In 2005 I filed for divorce from my husband. And in 2005 I received notice of when the courts would grant my petition. As my eyes settled on the date the high courts had set for my freedom I heard God laugh. It started as a chuckle, then crescendoed to an uproarious laugh of thunderous proportions. April 1st, the day of fools and pranks, and I laughed too. Since that date I have found that laughter is precious, it helps heal the heart and mind and brightens our days, it eases each tension and exercises our tummies. I began to find humor in everything, meaningless things, small actions, off handed comments, but that didn't start me writing, the writing began much later. My children grew to adulthood and I lost my job, the opportunity to move presented itself and I took it. In my new state of residence I began to meet people and they began to tell me I should write. I didn't take their advice at first, I was just trying to make new friends, find a job, establish a life. I found places to volunteer, interesting places, different places. It was about connecting with people, perhaps finding a small way to give to someone else and to learn from others. As a result I found a place to belong. My first project was to write, and so I finally took the hint and followed this new path, a new life, a new way to give and to document the laughter of God.

    Inspiration

Inspiration comes from so many places, people and things for me. Some of the author's I have read that have inspired me the most are Mr. Roger's - he wrote the Mr. Roger's Playbook, a book about what young children are learning when they play. I found this book to be eye opening. Another author that inspires me is Douglas Adams. I try to read his works (yes, all of them) every couple of years. I feel it keeps my mind properly warped and me sane when seeing the world in all it's glorious absurdity. My children are a great inspiration, we learned to laugh together and love together and enjoy our unique humor and share finds to help us laugh or cry or sigh. The world is full of laughter and inspiration, seeing the actions of others, through Mr Roger's methods, helps me find it.
