Biography

I was born on the 12th of March in the year 1989 in a city near Rotterdam, The Netherlands. At the age of 2 I asked my mum to teach me how to write. I don't remember myself not wanting to write. When I went to primary school, my favourite subject was Dutch. My teacher often read my stories out loud in front of the class. Although I have written stories all my life, I only started to write seriously in 2008, at the age of 19. I had always wanted to write at least one book in my life, but deep inside I knew that it might not ever happen. In 2008 I started to write stories more often and I took a writing course. I am currently writing my first novel (while another one I'm writing is currently "on hold") and I occasionally write short stories and poems, in both Dutch and English.

Inspiration

I have always used writing as a way to express myself. Someone once told me that it would be wise to keep a diary. To write down my thoughts and feelings. And so I did. I've been writing in my journal since 2004 and I try to write every day. People who have inspired me to write are my mother, but also well-known writers like Terry Pratchett and Stephenie Meyer have inspired me.
