Biography

On the more personal side, I live in Phoenix with my husband and two sons, both in high school now – e' gads. I've lived in the desert for 30 years, and quite frankly, the romance has worn thin. I dream of living by water and to hear it out my window. But most of my family lives here, so this is my home. Aside from the pernicious sunshine, I lead an enviable life and love the work I do. I started my life in New York, born in Queens at the end of 1959. My family moved up by Rochester (too much snow) when I was 10. I struggled through all of my compulsory education and hated school. Tried to quit. Tried everything. Parents wouldn't have it. Once I graduated from high school in 1977 I started college learning things I loved. I wanted to eat the world then and have stayed continually enrolled in some form of college study for the past 30 years. I dig it. I received my Associates degree from my local community college; my BA in Liberal Arts with concentrations writing and interdisciplinary studies from Vermont College; my MFA from Goddard. The latter two schools take non-traditional academic approaches under which I thrived. My hobby interests include world mysteries, theoretical physics, crop circles, sacred geometry, ley lines and their global patterns, the intention of sound and lyricism as it relates to theories of nascent language, the tendencies of light, aspects of cellular information exchange and ancestral memories. I'm very interested in the origin of things. I wonder a lot; I read a lot.

Inspiration

Fear can inspire me: bad dreams and dark times. I often think we're wee-bitty ants only we've not been told. When life gets too big I try to remember that we're just little beings trying to find our way. I like to think I lead a conscious life, but then three days go by and I say, "Where have I been?" These larger questions inspire me, as do the tiny ones. I like to let my mind telescope/microscope then try to find my context. Breathing, literally, is inspiration.
