Biography

Born in Canada, I obtained my Uni degree in Tuscany in 1995, after which I did many minor teaching jobs. I moved back to Canada for a year where I met my husband-to be. Then a year of teaching in London and finally moved back to our home in the Sicilian countryside under the sun!

Inspiration

Writing turned from being a pleasure to a necessity when my family moved from Canada to Sicily. I didn't know the language and although I had new friends who were very nice, I didn't feel like me anymore. The only thing that linked me back to me was my writing. So I wrote, making up the dialogues I couldn't have with anyone besides my immediate family. Any other interaction that we take for granted (a chat with the baker, the old dear in the street) was impossible. Writing is part of who I am. It has helped me maintain my identity.
