Biography
I’ve spent most of my life caring for and about animals, especially horses. I was raised in New Jersey and began riding horses at age 8. I entered The University of North Carolina in ’69, but transferred to Rutgers University College of Pharmacy in ‘73. In ’75, I graduated with highest honors and began practice in my family’s 50-year old pharmacy. In ’77, I married and left the practice of pharmacy to help run my husband’s veterinary practice, equine hospital, and farm. With the help of one of my husband’s patients, I reawakened to my skills in telepathic animal communication. I’ve worked with many wonderful animals, which have helped develop my abilities. After 27 years of managing an equine veterinary office, hospital, and farm, my husband and I relocated to a powerfully healing area in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Just as I embarked on this fabulous new chapter in my life, my husband confessed, “I never wanted any of this….” I began journaling to learn from and let go of the devastating feelings of betrayal, grief, anger, fear, and loneliness that engulfed me after we separated and divorced. Abandoned 600 miles from everyone I knew, my dream shattered, without a home or job, I found the courage to ask, “Why?” The answers were buried deep beneath my pain. My quest for Truth revealed the most unusual teachers from within Nature and the spiritual realms, because I had the courage to seek answers. The more I wrote, the more the story took on a life of its own. I began to realize the powerful lessons I was learning were not unique to me. Having started my writing as an act of self-love, it began to reveal itself as a story of self-help for others. I published Letting Go: An Ordinary Woman’s Extraordinary Journey of Healing & Transformation so others could benefit from my experiences. Letting Go is the extraordinary story of how I discovered how to let go and embrace the destiny unfolding before me. It is a story of powerful trauma followed by personal and spiritual growth, healing, and transformation. It tells of loss and change, and my survival of both. Encouraged by my readers, I’m committed to helping people learn from and let go of their personal traumas. At my “Just Ask” Communications in Todd, NC, I’m dedicated to bridging the chasm that has developed between people and animals through enhanced communication, better understanding and healing. I’m also an ordained minister in the Universal Brotherhood Movement. The book I had always intended to write will be released fall 2011, Tales of an Animal Communicator ~ Master Teachers. It is the first of a series of books about my animal communication experiences. This first book contains the stories of a client’s filly foal who taught me I could telepathically communicate with animals. The other tales involve my personal animals and all that they’ve taught me. There is so much I’ve learned from the animals that they want me to share that it will require more than one book.
Inspiration
I began writing to try to understand why I was betrayed and abandoned by my husband of 27 years after we moved to North Carolina. I discovered a dormant talent for writing, which allowed me to heal and to help others. Since writing Letting go, I've written weekly and monthly columns for ezines, articles that have appeared in ezines, print magazines, and books. I've learned the power of the written word, which allows me to reach out to thousands of people who can benefit from my personal life experiences. My work with the animals allows me to help heal the human-animal bond. My writing allows me to share what I've learned from the animals with humanity, so we can begin to bridge the chasm that had developed between people, animals, and Mother Earth. I am blessed to do what I love every day!
