Biography

I was born in Wharton, Texas in 1976, but grew up in Richmond, Texas. I attended school in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District and am a 1994 graduate of Lamar Consolidated High School. Currently, I am enrolled (with 13 more months to go) at LeTourneau Universit in Houston, Texas. I am achieving my BIS (bachellor of inderdisciplinary studies) and will receive my EC-4 certification upon graduation (after I pass my state exams). I have been married for 8 years and we have a 7 year old daughter. My husband and my daughter are the most precious people in my life. I had a happy childhood and spent a lot of time outside. Most of my stories are inspired by the animals I have loved since I was a child. When I was younger, I knew that I was either going to be a Vet or a Teacher....I chose Teacher, but my love for animals is ever-present. I'm called a "teacher-in-training" because that is just what I am - I am training to be a teacher. I do have a full-time job as well, but my first love is education and writing. I can't wait for the day that I am in my own classroom and charged with shaping the minds of young people. Writing has always been a passion of mine, but I rarely shared it with anyone. I generally would pick one family member at Christmas time to write for. After a while, it got to be a joke - "Who will she make cry this year?" Little did my family know, but this was the best compliment they could give me. Now, I'm published! Its a little scary, but its fun all at the same time. I've never been one that enjoyed attention, but I guess now I have to get used to it! My dream is to touch as many children as possible with my writing. I hope to inspire, comfort, and educate them and somehow make their life more enjoyable! There is a lot more to me, but again, I'm not one that likes the attention and generally find it difficult to write about myself. Inspiration

Children are my inspiration! I love the way their minds and hearts work and I agonize over the things children are faced with today. I am an educator at heart and soon, I will get the chance to share that with children in the classroom - thats where I feel I can make the most difference!
