Biography

Misti Sandefur writes books and articles from her home in Southern Illinois, something she's been doing for more than 10 years. Not only does she enjoy writing, but she has a passion for helping others, and she writes with the hopes that her words will touch and inspire others. To-date she has published two books and more than 150 articles.

In her effort to help others, Misti started an e-zine for writers. Coffee Break for Writers (www.coffeebreakforwriters.com) is a free monthly e-zine and a paying market for writers. There's no fluff or advertising in Coffee Break for Writers.

When Misti's not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children (ages 14, 13 and 11). In addition to her children, she's also the step-mother of two (ages 20 and 18). Her husband is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and her step-daughter is enlisted in the United States Navy. Misti's hobbies include enjoying the outdoors, playing board games with her family, reading the Bible, attending church and walking. Misti's favorite board game is Balderdash.

Inspiration

Misti says her hardships in life is what inspired her to write. Through writing she can relieve stress and hopefully help others. She feels God blessed her with the talent to write, and she wants to use that talent to help others. When she can, she donates books to fund-raisers, tries to help with fund-raisers, and from time-to-time she will donate a part of the proceeds from her book sales to a charity of her choice.
