Biography

Mark Williams has a passion for making people smile. Keeping with his belief that a good book and a comfortable bed equal the perfect end to any day, Mark has authored several fictional pieces including screenplays, short stories, and novels. Mark retired from law enforcement in Arizona after twenty years of service and has been teaching English in an inner city high school since 2001 and currently serves as a department chair. Mark’s life experience has made him a subject matter expert in many aspects of law enforcement and adult education and he frequently travels around the United States to speak on these topics. Mark has been married for 27 years and has three adult children, two girls and a boy, whom he loves dearly and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona.

Inspiration

There are many different things that inspire me. You got your traditional ones like family, God, country, the love of a good woman. But there are others and they vary day by day. Like a good, single-malt scotch with a nice cigar after a steak dinner with friends. Or a pre-dawn run and the brisk conversations that ensue with one's own mind from breathing the first air of the day. How about a sappy commercial that taps into my feelings as a father and the nerves that get twisted, causing a tear to form. Then there's the inspiring moment that I can still take my twenty-year-old son in a wrestling match, of course, I have to cheat-but that's part of being a dad. A song on the radio, a quiet walk in the afternoon. Almost anything can inspire this author.
