I have taught writing as a creative and spiritual pursuit for more than 15 years, helping both novice and seasoned writers across the U.S. and my native Canada to deepen their creativity, move through creative blocks and answer their call to write.
I've also traveled the U.S. as an inspirational speaker, work with individuals as a mentor and coach and write a monthly newsletter on personal growth, empowerment and spirituality that reaches readers in more than two dozen countries.

I didn't set out to write The MoonQuest. The MoonQuest found me.
More precisely, an odd-looking man in an even odder-looking coach pulled by two odd-colored horses found me.
It was March 1994 and I was teaching a creative writing workshop in Toronto. As participants settled into writing, these characters — who would later become the mysterious O'ric and his mystical mares, Rykka and Ta'ar — rode onto my blank page.
Their tale would become the opening scene of the first draft of a novel that would reveal neither its story nor title to me for many months.
When it finally did, I was living in rural Nova Scotia on Canada's Atlantic seabord, where The MoonQuest's initial drafts took form.
It took more than a dozen years of revisions, each penned in a different part of Canada or the United States, before The MoonQuest found its home with LightLines Media and won its first awards.
The Voice of the Muse also snuck up on me. It began as a series of self-motivating vignettes that I wrote to get me going on a sequel to The MoonQuest and, like The MoonQuest, took on a life of its own — turning into both a book and accompanying CD of guided meditations for writers.
