Biography

Marilyn Reid is a Scottish Writer. An Author and Plawright, Marilyn also writes copy for the Internet and has an interest in World Culture,Culture and Belief,History,People,and of course Research. Knowing how things came about or who named them always leads to fascinating new discoveries and stories, hence Marilyn's natural interest. "I have written since childhood. Love writing for both the stage and the page. My interests in Culture and Belief, Mythology,History,and theatre arts, have always led me to discover new people and topics through my research, providing me with plenty of writing material."

Inspiration

The World inspires me. For example, just wondering why a star was given its name, made me wonder what someone at the other side of the world would call it. This led to my book Mythical Star Signs. My daughter, recovering from a serious illness, asked me to take her out in early Spring years ago, and the churchyard was filled with lovely snowdrops. To answer her questions about snowdrops, I did a lot of research, and this was the first flower story that I wrote which became one of a collection of forty stories in my book Mythical Flower Stories.
