Biography

Marilyn Myrick Watson has been teaching for 25 years. She is currently a librarian in an elementary school and an active speaker around Arizona. A graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a BA in Elementary Education, she received her MA in counseling from Arizona State University. She has taught 4th and 5th grades, worked for the Arizona Department of Education as a Career Education Specialist and is currently a librarian at Zuni Elementary School in Scottsdale. Marilyn has four books published: Barry Goldwater, Mr. Arizona, Rose Mofford, Arizona's First Woman Governor, Raul Castro, Arizona's First Hispanic Governor and Frank Luke,Jr, World War I Aviation Ace. She is currently working on three more famous Arizonansto be published in 2009. When not teaching, speaking or writing, Marilyn enjoys travel and potty trained her first son while camping through Russia years ago.She has rafted the Colorado River twice, swum with dolphins and sting rays( no sharks). Currently she still enjoys travel, skiing, working out and knitting!

Inspiration

My inspiration was first, my mother, an avid reader who especially liked reading biographies to learn about other people. As a youngster,I remember mom sitting and reading all day. She told me, "Don't start a good book until your hosework is done. You might not get up til the book is finished." OUr family was a great one for stoires and fun. My cousin and soroity sister ,Linda Conrad writes for Silhoutte Romance novels. Guess it runs in the family.
