Biography

After 34 years of working for the United States government I retired. My husband and I live in a Florida retirement community in Florida. We have two daughters. I am the Queen Mum of a national Red Hat Society Chapter, The Plum Red Social Butterflies. I am an Eastern Star of the Free Masons. I enjoy reading, golfing, bowling, and playing a variety of card games. I was born in a small western Pennsylvania coal mining town. Every Saturday I went to the library and fell in love with reading and wanted to be an author. I have been writing fiction it seems my entire life. After many rejections, I had my first book published in 2006.

Inspiration

I lived in a small town where there wasn't much to do so I created stories. In addition, I read the Bible a lot and thought it was filled with wonderful, unbelievable stories. As a child I was punished often because my verison of events never matched the truth. I was not a liar, just creative. I added detailed information to make the events more interesting. For example, one of my first stories involved my mother giving birth. I told my friends that my mother made history when she gave birth to a baby girl on October 14th and on October the 23rd gave birth to another baby girl. The reality is that my sister and I were both born in October as stated but in different years.
