Biography
LOOKMAN was born in Surrey in the 1950's. His interest in Sufism led to his use the pseudonym LOOKMAN, which derives from the wise sage in the Qur'an. After leaving school, he took an interest in youth politics, became a Press Officer and the second youngest elected councillor in England. He married in 1980 and has four daughters. He has studied up to and beyond a graduate level at university. Lookman has worked in a wide range of jobs, but mainly in building materials manufacture, recruitment and has taught TEFL. He has three books coming out in 2008 and had three of his radio plays broadcast on BBC. His genres are fantasy, humour, adventure and historical children's fiction. He has just signed up with a new Literary Agent and expects 2009 to be his lift off year. Currently, 'Jo Badpenny' and 'Jo Badpenny at School' are looking for a publisher. In January 2009 he will have his second Mihte book finished. This book 'Mihte's Challenge: Can Jack defeat the Dread Lord of Annihilation' has even more action and horror than Mihte's Quest: Kids in the Underworld'. Editors have call this book and epic and have compared it with 'The Lord of the Rings'.
Inspiration
His writing reflects his childhood as many as many writers claim. He grew up at a time when children adventurously roamed freely and made their own entertainment.His youngest daughter has influenced and supported his writing. She is his greatest fan.
