Biography

Growing up on a farm in Iowa as the youngest of four kids, I was a tom boy from the word go. I loved athletics, the great outdoors, as well as people and being at the center of all the action/attention! This upbringing afforded me the opportunity to go onto college and expand my mind by traveling the world. Fresh out of college I became an entrepreneur and started my transformational journey in becoming a multiple business owner and Ironman Triathlete. Through the ups and downs of business and athletic events, I have learned that life is full of experiences that define me and ultimately allow me to grow more so that I can help more people. It is through those experiences - people, places and things - in life that we succeed. And I have learned that no one succeeds alone!

Inspiration

My inspiration mainly came from devastating events/benchmarks throughout my life that caused me to stop and look fear in the face and my choosing to move forward with courage. The death of a friend in cancer, business failures, painful injuries from overtraining - and the list could go on - I have created inspiration from all of those life lessons and rise above them. My Ironman Triathlon journey was a huge influencer. Through the training and obstacles that I faced in and around me during those years that led up to that challenge were key in my own transformational journey. People that influenced me to be empowered in my journey were spiritul mentors, coaches, college professors that challenged me to expand my mind/body/spirit, and those whose lives were cut shorter than I thought possible. Lastly, the great outdoors also inspire me to write - being one with creation and nature.
